Meet our Founder
William Jones is the Founder and CEO of Envoy Clinical Research, a national leader in inclusive, community-anchored clinical trial operations. With more than a decade of executive leadership experience—including COO roles with site networks—he has built and scaled high-performing research networks across diverse therapeutic areas.
William serves on the SCRS IncluDE Steering Committee and is recognized globally as a speaker, educator, and consultant on clinical research workforce development, site-sponsor collaboration, and culturally responsive patient engagement.
He previously served as the Clinical Research Educator at Children’s Health System of Texas and has taught or lectured at UT Southwestern, Texas A&M University-Commerce, Southern Methodist University, and Texas State University.
Envoy Clinical Research exists to close the distance between where medicine is going and the people who cannot afford to wait for it to arrive.
In his spare time, William enjoys spending time with his wife and family performing music, volunteering in the community and serving at his church home.
Our Story
At Envoy Clinical Research, we believe medical breakthroughs should serve everyone. For too long, clinical trials have excluded the very communities most impacted by health disparities — communities that carry an outsized burden of illness and an undersized share of the science meant to treat it. We're here to change that.
We were founded on a simple but urgent conviction: that trust is the foundation of good research, and that trust must be earned in the places where people actually live — in neighborhoods, in physician offices, in community gathering spaces. We don't ask communities to come to us. We go to them.
Envoy embeds a fully trained research team inside physician practices at no cost to the practice — bringing clinical trial access directly into the care relationships people already have and already trust. This is how we build a research ecosystem that's not just more diverse on paper, but genuinely more representative of the world medicine is meant to heal.

How We Show Up
The name Envoy is intentional. An envoy is a messenger — someone sent ahead with news, with an offer, with a bridge. That is exactly what our team does every day. We carry the message that the gap between emerging treatments and the communities who need them most is getting shorter. We are that bridge, and we take that role seriously.
We are stewards. The volunteers who participate in our trials didn't choose to be eligible — life brought them here. They bring us their hope, their time, and their trust. In return, we bring them our full commitment: rigorous science, clear communication, and a team that will never lose sight of the human being at the center of every data point.
Our community teammates — the physicians, local leaders, neighbors, and partners who walk this work alongside us — are not ancillary to our mission. They are our mission. The gap closes because of them. The breakthroughs reach further because of them.
